At Stryker-Sage, we are about simple interventions that deliver extraordinary outcomes for clinicians and their patients. These simple interventions are produced in a dynamic and highly automated manufacturing facility in Cary IL, about an hour outside of downtown Chicago. Our engineers, technicians and operators are proud of what we do, and grateful for the role we play in impacting caregivers and their patients. We produce millions of parts per day using custom high-speed automation lines. Manufacturing Engineers support ongoing operations, continuous improvement (Lean and Six Sigma) projects, and multi-million-dollar investments in complex equipment to support growth. We focus on safety, quality, capacity and efficiency. We are a diverse, collaborative, and highly technical team driven to make healthcare better.
Who we want
+ **Collaborative partners** . People who build and leverage cross-functional relationships to bring together ideas, data and insights to drive continuous improvement.
+ **Analytical problem solvers.** People who go beyond just fixing to identify root causes, evaluate optimal solutions, and recommend comprehensive upgrades to prevent future issues.
+ **Self-directed initiators** . People who take ownership of their work and need no prompting to drive productivity, change, and outcomes.
+ **Dedicated achievers.** Relentless about quality, people who thrive in a fast-paced environment and will stop at nothing to ensure a project is complete and meets regulations and expectations.
The Program
As part of the Global Leadership in Engineering Accelerated Program (LEAP), you will rotate through three manufacturing-focused experiences in 20 months. This gives you a broad base of experience early in your career, with significant opportunities for technical training and impactful projects. Your first rotation will be in the Manufacturing Engineering team. Subsequent rotations will be in Project Management, Continuous Improvement, or Quality Engineering, depending on your interests and business needs. In each rotation you will gain the perspective and skill of that role, support ongoing manufacturing operations while taking on high visibility projects, and have opportunities to interface with Senior Leadership. Core training opportunities in both hard engineering and soft personal skills for example, validation activities in regulated industry, design transfer requirements, GD&T, additive, six-sigma greenbelt, presentation skills, and financial acumen are integrated into the program. Upon completion of the program, you can expect accelerated career progression based on your broad base of experience and delivery of impactful results.

Functional Rotation Opportunities
As a program participant, graduates will begin their journey in Manufacturing Engineering, then rotate through two other functional areas before returning to Manufacturing Engineering:
Manufacturing Engineering
Manufacturing Engineers are key players in supporting Manufacturing and Operations of Stryker products. We focus on opportunities to increase capacity, reduce cost, improve safety, monitor existing processes, and identify and implement process improvements while adhering to medical device manufacturing regulations.
Quality
At Stryker, Quality always comes first. Whether it is new product development or sustaining existing products, Quality Engineers are the voice of quality for Stryker. They are responsible for reliability engineering, human factors engineering, risk management, process validation support and more, while ensuring compliance to FDA Quality System Regulations and ISO 13485.
Continuous Improvement
Our Continuous Improvement (CI) team focuses on practical problem solving at the source. CI project leaders work with technicians, operators, and others to identify and eliminate waste through real-time experimentation and improvement. CI team members deploy Lean concepts, and plan and execute Kaizen workshops.
Project Management (PMO)
The largest projects at our site often require a technical lead as well as a project manager. The project manager is responsible for coordinating all the tasks and resources required to execute a highly complex and impactful project. Project managers report status to senior leadership, identify, assess and manage project risks, and maintain project budgets and schedules.
