Creates a liaison between the Supply Chain and end users with all aspects of hospital pharmaceutical supplies and procurement. To have active involvement with all CHS entities on issues related to hospital pharmaceutical supplies. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the direction of AVP of Pharmacy / Ancillary Resources, the Pharmacy Resource Manager is responsible for: Handling and managing expired medications, handling drug shortages and recalls. Purchasing manager assists in the department’s compliance with all state and federal regulatory bodies. Maintains in the pharmacies an adequate supply of medications on the system formulary. Arranges for the purchase of medications at the most economical price consistent with product quality and availability by means of group and individual contracts with manufacturers and drug wholesalers. Reports the monthly pharmaceutical expenditures to the Pharmacy Director focus group to assist in budget monitoring. Assists the AVP of Pharmacy / Ancillary Resources by informing him/her of any new or unusual developing trends in hospitals drug usage. Monitors and analyzes vendor performance and supplier acceptance. Constantly exploring new products and/or ways to reduce costs and at the same time maintain quality. Monitors and confirms contract pricing on all orders. Responsible for reporting vendor pricing and items updates to the AVP of Pharmacy / Ancillary Resources. Ensures compliance with 340B program requirements of qualified patients, drugs and locations. Ensures 340b program meets all primary objectives: compliance, maximum participation, and efficiency of 340B related processes. Reviews and refines monthly 340B cost savings report, detailing purchasing and replacement practices, as well as dispensing patterns. Monitors utilization records and purchasing accounts, in order to ensure that billing extract data and split billing software are working appropriately. Procurement, clerical and billing services for Outpatient Services (i.e. clinics, infusion center)-management of medication procurement, storage, distribution, purchasing, inventory control and charges of all medications and related items stocked for the Outpatient Services in the pharmacy department, in accordance with established policy and procedures. Perform other related duties as required. POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Two years college education background in business/related field recommended, Bachelor’s preferred Skills: Strong Organizational skills, proficient with MS Excel. Physical Requirements: Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in hospital purchasing recommended. Computer experience: MS Excel, MS Word, strong experience with Materials Management Information Systems preferred. Salary Range USD $90,000.00 - USD $110,000.00 /Yr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
