This job contributes to REI’s success as a strategic and execution-focused Product Manager for the demand planning capability and will support our large, cross-divisional and multi-year program named “Merchandise Planning Transformation” (MPT). This program entails significant technology and business process transformation for the merchandising area of the REI Co-op and is a critical foundational enabler for both the Co-op’s ongoing operations as well as its planned strategic initiatives. This role will focus on the demand planning area, while also ensuring alignment and integration with adjacent merchandise planning functions, including assortment planning, allocation and replenishment, merchandise financial planning, and supply planning.
In this role you will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive alignment and bridge business requirements and technology capabilities to ensure the new demand planning capability delivers on its intended value. This role will ensure the demand planning capability is successfully launched, adopted and continually optimized across the organization.
You'll be expected to own the demand planning product vision and clearly articulate the roadmap to team members and collaborators. In addition, you will understand and manage configuration, where applicable, in partnership with technology.

Responsibilities and Qualifications
+ Articulates the product vision and clearly translates the vision into clear requirements for the roadmap. Creates buy-in for the product vision with key business and technical partners
+ Responsible for a core piece of a business capability with a well-understood business user base. Expected to effectively deliver impactful features for these business users.
+ Contributes to the strategic and quarterly planning processes; articulating priorities and key results, and conducts hindsight insights on results
+ Uses tools to conduct discovery with their product team, such as business user surveys, data analytics and journey mapping.
+ Develops and maintain a complete working knowledge and documentation of Merchandising current and future processes, gaps/pain points, and applications (including business functionality, interfaces, data flow, and functional architecture).
+ Contributes to business process design workshops, advocating for business users, understanding and enabling industry leading best practices across multiple merchandising disciplines
+ Creates clear requirements or backlog stories/features/epics, business processes, and requests for proposals (RFPs) with all required data and details to have in depth feasibility and strategic conversations with technical partners
+ Proactively assists product team to recognize dependencies, remove barriers and ensure smooth product delivery
+ Contributes to backlog grooming/prioritization sessions to ensure sign-off by business and development teams
+ Utilizes various data analytic tools to gain deep insights about business users and usage behaviors
+ Effectively communicates and aligns with multiple product teams and collaborators to drive towards common goals.
+ Develop and build test cases, work with QA teams, and conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with end-users.
+ Develop end-user documentation and assist with training and rollout plans for new systems, or enhancements to existing systems as determined by direct Manager and/or Change Management lead.
+ Effectively document centralized product information for consumption by partners and collaborators
+ Partner with Change Management partners to identify, document, and prepare for change impacts
+ Partner with technology to design, develop, configure, test, document, and troubleshooting
+ Identify and resolve implementation roadblocks, escalating as needed
+ Define and track KPIs to measure implementation success and product performance post launch
+ Effectively manage stakeholder relationships and gather feedback from users to inform product iterations and enhancements
+ Effectively utilizes and helps improve product practices for the Co-op.
+ Work with a cross functional product team to deliver solutions that create positive outcomes for our business users business.
+ Lead your team through a process of discovering how to best solve for key opportunities. Encourage and incorporate the feedback of key collaborators.
+ Effectively communicates and aligns with multiple product teams and collaborators to drive towards common goals.
+ Work with designers and architects/engineers to translate customer needs into a design and technical plan.
+ Provides exceptional support to business users, triaging and solving process questions, system issues and bugs, while partnering with technical teams to communication to business users, and resolving issues
+ Advocates, supports, and contributes to ongoing improvement of Product practices at the co-op
Required Qualifications
+ 5+ years’ general Merchandising product experience, including 2+ years’ experience as a Product Manager or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Experience working collaboratively with engineers, data analysts, solution & domain architects
+ Experience designing and executing product discovery and product optimization for internal tools and users
+ Technical fluency; comfort understanding and discussing technology concepts, schedule trade-offs and new opportunities with technical team members
+ Familiarity with fundamental concepts of Systems Thinking
+ Knowledge of data value streams, and ability to identify data quality concerns
+ Experience in building and operationalizing holistic solutions that meet the needs for multiple lines of businesses
+ Proven track record of delivering impactful products / services to a broad customer base in an agile environment.
+ Proven ability to leverage data and insights to make informed product recommendations
+ Proven analytical, business process, communication and business acumen skills
+ Demonstrated experience with facilitating business user sessions
+ Demonstrated ability to self-educate and learn while doing
+ Closely participates and collaborates with others on one's own team and across REI for the achievement of business goals.

Perferred Qualifications
+ Fluency with API design benefits, able to clearly communicate platform benefits from API design choices.
+ Experience with o9 software and/or o9 implementation
+ Experience with large technology enabled transformation implementations

Pay Range
$98,300.00 - $157,400.00 per year
