Administrative Specialist - Nursing and Allied Health Sciences
POSITION DETAILS
The Department of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences currently offers two degree programs, an AAS in Nursing and an AAS in Radiologic Technology. The department is seeking an Administrative Specialist to serve as the primary liaison with healthcare facilities, including managing the clinical placement of BCC Nursing and Radiologic Technology students. By fostering strong partnerships with hospitals and other healthcare providers, this position enhances the educational experience for students. The administrative specialist reports to the department chair but works in close collaboration with program directors and faculty.
Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Managing clinical placements: Coordinate and secure clinical placements for BCC Nursing and Radiologic Technology students, ensuring compliance with all requirements.
• Ensuring program operations: Oversee the effective functioning of clinical placement operations, ensuring all processes run smoothly.
• Supporting accreditation efforts: Work with program directors to prepare accreditation reports and document accreditation activities, including advisory boards and program meetings.
• Fostering respectful relationships: Treat students and colleagues respectfully, promoting a positive and inclusive environment.
• Maintaining professional development: Stay current in the professional discipline and educational methodologies through ongoing professional development activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum: Bachelor's degree in health administration or related field with four years' experience required.
Preferred: Master's degree in health administration or a related field. Experience with clinical health programs and accreditation process.
Successful candidates will also have the following core competencies:
• Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills for liaising with students, faculty, healthcare facilities, and other stakeholders.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple placements and schedules effeGtively, ensuring compliance with institutional and program requirements.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Capacity to address and resolve issues related to placements, such as conflicts or changes in clinical site availability.

- Oversees department operations and assists management in planning department activities, creating schedules, assigning staff and preparing and delivering department communications.
- Works with appropriate offices related to personnel recruitment, expediting search activities
- Research coordinates and organizes materials for key events such as promotion and tenure reviews.
- Supervises and trains support staff and student workers.
- Manages budget and coordinates purchasing, accounting, and payroll.
- Provides instructions and basic advice to students, faculty, and others seeking information on department activities, policies, and schedules.
- Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Salary range: $55,450 - $66,212. Commensurate with education and experience.
