    Job Summary

    The Information Technology Spend Optimization (ITSO) Procurement Consultant is responsible for helping customers achieve cost savings through proactive IT spend management. A core aspect of this role is the ability to analyze, negotiate, and refine legal language in software licensing agreements, maintenance renewals, and IT purchases. The successful candidate will play a critical role in mitigating legal and contractual risks, ensuring favorable terms, and protecting our customers’ interests in all IT procurement activities.

    Role Description

    + Lead the negotiation of contract terms and conditions, with a strong focus on legal language, to ensure agreements are favorable and aligned with customer objectives.

    + Serve as the primary liaison in negotiations with suppliers, securing advantageous pricing, terms, and legal protections for the customer.

    + Collaborate closely with customer legal, compliance, finance, and security teams to ensure that all procurement activities adhere to legal and regulatory requirements.

    + Prepare, review, and revise customer contract templates, ensuring clarity and enforceability of legal terms.

    + Utilize customer negotiation playbooks to navigate complex contract negotiations, escalating issues to customer procurement or legal teams as necessary.

    + Ensure all contract approvals are obtained and documented prior to execution, maintaining strict compliance with internal and customer-specific legal processes.

    + Deliver comprehensive IT spend management services, including contract analysis, cost savings recommendations, and execution of sourcing strategies.

    + Maintain detailed records of contract negotiations, legal deviations, and cost savings achieved.

    + Proactively manage customer renewals, ensuring sufficient time to negotiate improved legal and financial terms.

    + Adhere to and enforce customer-specific SLAs, with particular attention to legal compliance and contract deliverables.

    + Support other ITSO business lines as needed, promoting well-organized, legally sound licensing and purchasing environments.

    + Train junior members of the team in negotiations for both pricing and legal terms.

    + Support other lines of ITSO business as needed to promote organized licensing and purchasing environments for customers

    Skill Level Requirements

    + Ability to create clear and effective technical documentation. - Intermediate

    + The ability to understand customer needs, provide tailored solutions, and build strong, long-term customer relationships through a consultative approach. - Intermediate

    + The ability to effectively utilize applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook to enhance productivity and perform various tasks efficiently. - Intermediate

    + The ability to effectively utilize advanced Excel features for data manipulation and visualization. - Intermediate

    + Proven experience in structured cabling, end-user device deployments, and conducting site surveys. - Intermediate

    Other Requirements

    + Completed Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience required

    + 4+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or a related field

    + Ability to travel to SHI, Partner, and Customer Events

    + Ability to travel 10%

    Preferred:

    + Paralegal Certification

    + Experience managing competitive bids (RFQ/RFP)

     

    The estimated annual pay range for this position is $70,000 - $120,000 which includes a base salary. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
