    General Statement of Duties

Under the direction of the Archives Director, the Program Director shall have the following duties:

Implement a multi-tier program that serves both youth and adults. The programming for adults should include a minimum of three lectures each summer. Lectures include literary readings, and creative presentations -- a program where the humanities, including history, and science may simultaneously be engaged, and innovative community dialogue may ensue. Facilitate and manage an extracurricular program for youth designed for both interdisciplinary and artistic exploration, utilizing the resources of Butte’s local art and humanities community and the rich history provided by the Clark Chateau and the Butte-Silver Bow Public Archives. The program should empower participants to take ownership of their own connections to history through engagement with various art forms, communal discussion and debate, and self-guided research.

Under the direction of the Archives Director, the Program Director shall be responsible for overseeing one or more programs within an organization, and to create and revise programs, develop guidelines, train staff, raise funds, and ensure compliance with government policies, laws, and directives.
