Job Title: Lab TechnicianJob Description

The laboratory technician plays a crucial role in conducting chemical and physical laboratory tests to aid scientists and engineers in qualitative and quantitative analyses of solid and liquid materials, particularly within the institutional cleaning chemical market. This position supports multiple projects and teams, focusing on machine ware washing chemicals, equipment, and ware performance testing.

Responsibilities

+ Perform laboratory tests under direct supervision, controlling variable conditions and noting unusual events or departures from prescribed test conditions.

+ Recommend improvements to experimental procedures.

+ Accurately measure and record test results in a laboratory notebook.

+ Assist higher-level technical personnel in analyzing and interpreting experimental data, making preliminary evaluations and recommending acceptance or rejection.

+ Help maintain productivity and organization within a busy research laboratory.

+ Maintain Standard Operating Procedures and suggest improvements.

+ Participate in scientific discussions and apply critical thinking.

+ Assemble test materials and equipment to expedite procedures.

+ Assist in analyzing and interpreting experimental data.

+ Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in chemistry, biochemistry, and laboratory practices.

+ Experience in quality assurance and analytical chemistry.

+ Familiarity with wet chemistry and sample testing.

+ Strong data entry and quality control skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Associate's Degree required; Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biology, or related field preferred.

+ Creativity and effective verbal and written communication skills.

+ Analytical and problem-solving abilities.

+ Capability to multitask and manage numerous projects.

+ Attention to detail, as verified by references.

+ Familiarity with MS Office and statistical software preferred.

+ Mechanical aptitude, including comfort with troubleshooting and operating equipment.

Work Environment

The role is 100% onsite with a schedule of Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm (flexible hours). The facility boasts a beautiful campus with a walking path and an on-site cafeteria offering diverse options and an outdoor terrace for lunch breaks.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
