    Health Records Technician

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Health Information Technician to join our team in an on-site position, working Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. This role is integral to processing medical records requests, ensuring data accuracy, and maintaining compliance with privacy regulations.

    Responsibilities

    + Receive and prioritize customer requests from multiple sources, processing them through appropriate systems to completion within required timeframes.

    + Ensure compliance with State and Federal requirements and HIPAA regulations.

    + Address customer inquiries for patient information and assist callers with making record requests.

    + Educate customers on information confidentiality and privacy regulations.

    + Identify and respond appropriately to both internal and external customer needs utilizing available resources.

    MUST HAVE

    + Proficiency in using the Epic Release of Information (ROI) module.

    + Knowledge of HIPAA laws.

    + Data entry and processing accuracy of 95%.

    + Experience with e-faxing and PDF applications.

    + 3-5 years of relevant experience in a medical setting.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bilingual skills are preferred.

    + Experience with RHIT/RHIA is helpful, though no licensure is required.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $35.00/hr.
