Job Summary: The Air Ops Instructor will augment active-duty instructors in the EODTEU2 Air Ops Division facilitating advanced level, high-risk accelerated free-fall (AFF) and static line (S/L) training for EOD platoons during Unit Level training (ULT) to support O-FRP Basic Phase. This training consists of classroom and field training including full mission profiles (FMP) in the local training area as well as Eloy, AZ and Ft Pickett, VA.
Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Provide high-risk air operations instruction.
+ Safely prepare, train, and execute AFF procedures and operations to include military High Altitude High Opening (HAHO) and High-Altitude Low Opening procedures, and perform MFF and HAHO insertions in a training environment.
+ Conduct ORM to mitigate hazards inherent to EOD Air Operations training and fully comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards and regulations.
+ Perform scheduled, un-scheduled and authorized repair maintenance on military freefall, static line parachute systems in the EOD inventory.
+ Perform technical rigger inspections and repacks of MT-2XX parachute systems in accordance with applicable manuals.
+ Perform technical rigger inspections and repacks on MT-2XX, Enhanced Military Javelin (MT-3), Maritime Military Javelin (MT-4), Army Ram Air (RA-1), NON-Tactical parachute Systems, MC-6 and T-11Rs, in accordance with applicable manuals.
+ Maintain currency in administrative duties and technical expertise.
+ Assist in the maintenance and inventory of divisional Table of Allowance items, CESE/SABAR, and issued equipment.
+ Personal Property database maintenance Data entry of personal property assets, assist with archiving asset records, identify and correct discrepancies in the database.
+ Conduct inventory management of command Personal Property assets to include processing receipts of incoming material, schedule and perform personal property inventories.
+ Assist in policy enforcement related to personal property management program.
+ Ensure correct processing and forwarding of receipt, transfer, and disposition of supporting documents. Prepare documents as needed.
+ Manage parachute parts storeroom and warehouse and inventory management experience in the DoD.
+ Maintain access and complete required training to manage inventories within the command Accountability Property System Record through programs such as DPAS.
+ Ensure ordering of parachute parts to ensure no loss in readiness. Develop phase replacement plans.
+ Recommend material solutions to EOD Air Ops shortfalls
+ Provide expert advice to Unit, Group and Type Commanders on all aspects of EOD Air Operations.
+ Maintain currency in technical expertise and training techniques.
+ Assist in the maintenance and inventory of divisional Table of Allowance items, CESE/SABAR, and issued equipment.
+ Participate in the training and instructing of EOD operators in the Air Ops area of expertise.
+ Participate in Field Training Exercises as needed.
+ Observe, evaluate, and document training exercises.
+ Participate in developing short and long-range training plans, training programs, and provide training and technology support to assigned divisions.
+ Participate in the development, delivery, and maintenance of divisional curriculum.
+ Assist in divisional purchase request.
+ Prepare correspondence and maintain files of correspondence, forms, regulations, directives, letters, and other publications as required. Ensure publications, instructions, directives, and files are accurately updated and correspondence is accurately filed and processed in accordance with the Navy Correspondence Manual SECNAVINST 5216.SD and SSIC Manual SECNAVINST 5430.7P.
+ Prepare reports as required to document the evaluation of training.
+ Support night operations.
+ Fulfill DZSO roles and responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
+ Military Free Fall (MFF) Jump Master
+ Static Line (S/L) Jump Master
+ Parachute Rigger
+ At least 500 successful, documented jumps
+ Honorable Discharge from Active-Duty Military Service.
+ Secret Clearance
+ Possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in English.
+ Possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
+ Be skilled in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, and Power point.
