    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Ensure a safe and clean working environment for loading dock employees and outside contractors.

    + Coordinate dock needs with Event Managers, show contractors, Operations, Aramark, and PCCA construction contractors.

    + Schedule traffic management labor to accommodate show needs.

    + Coordinate activity at the marshaling yard.

    + Coordinate the regular cleaning. Maintenance and equipment management of the interior and exterior dock areas and marshalling yard with Housekeeping, facilities, and show contractors.

    + Coordinate construction needs with PACCA VP of Engineering to minimize disruption to show activity.

    + Coordinate trash container placement with all parties to minimize disruptions to show freight handling.

    + Oversee incoming delivery handling to ensure receiving procedures are being followed.

    + Coordinate with Event Management and Security to ensure dock hours and security staffing hours match up.

    + Attend if required pre-cons and event production meetings to ensure the exchange of information and event details.

    + Review Event Reports submitted by Event Managers concerning dock issues.

    + Ensure the timely submission and review of all required labor calls and staff schedules

    + Perform other duties that may be, from time to time, assigned. Work scheduled hours as required by the Contractor Services Director

    + Other duties may be assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS

    To perform this job successfully, one must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    + Bachelor’s degree in business management, labor relations, or related field; additional experience may be substituted for a degree

    + Minimum of three (3) years in a similar position at a major convention facility. Well-versed in the convention and trade show industry, including planning, labor, and logistics

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    + The Dock Manager will be familiar with and observant of all PCC policies and operational procedures, as well as labor-related policies

    + Knowledge, ability, and skill in administrative and managerial functions including: research, planning, organization, oral and written communications, and leadership.

    + Ability to work in a multitasking environment with minimal supervision

    + Ability to work under pressure, in a team environment with or without supervision

    + Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required; ability to interact with all levels of staff, including management

    + Ability to work as a team member

    + Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in addition to normal business hours

    COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of event booking and scheduling software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software, and be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to work both indoors and outdoors as required by the function. Must have the physical ability to maneuver around PCC, at times, walking and/or standing up to 8-10 hours daily. The employee is regularly required to sit for long hours; using hands to handle files, type, and operate office machines; to talk and hear on the telephone. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision to handle contracts, other office correspondence, etc.

    HOURS OF WORK AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

    Irregular hours may be required.
