    Duties and Responsibilities

     

    As the manager of the Office of Workforce Efficiency (OWE), you will be responsible for providing strong partnerships on recruitment and selection, classification and compensation strategies.

     

    In this role, you will lead a team that partners with leadership, managers, and employees in developing strategies to identify, attract, and select quality candidates. You will be responsible for providing policy interpretation, advising on best practices related to talent acquisition, and creating analytics to support our talent strategy.

     

    This position will also be responsible for oversight in pay structure, salary ranges, and organizational structure. You will demonstrate an understanding of Federal, State law, rules and Department policy through consultation and presentations. Partner with Learning and Development to enhance training for employees, supervisors, and managers.

     

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

     

    + Understanding recruiting methods and best practices, as well as applicable policies and federal and state employment laws and regulations.

    + Understanding classification and compensation best practices, as well as applicable policies and federal and state employment laws and regulations.

    + Great active listener and advisor, exercising appropriate discretion when handling critical and confidential situations.

    + Superior oral and written communication skills to include the ability to speak or present effectively in front of large or small groups.

    + Effective interpersonal and consultative skills, including the ability to collaborate and coach others.

    + Ability to utilize critical thinking and judgement to analyze complex situations and develop approporate unbiased recommendations for solutions.

    + Ability to effectively manage workload and work independently and in a team environment.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience in supervising/managing subordinates in HR.

    + Talent acquisition and/or classification/compensation experience.

     

    Job Related Requirements

     

    The position you are applying is subject to a Level 2 background check, along with Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) security clearance, to include a fingerprint-based check of the criminal records of the FBI, as a condition of employment pursuant to Chapter 110.1127, 435 and 943, Florida Statutes. Please note that since this position requires CJIS clearance, the Department will have access to all an applicant's criminal and juvenile delinquency records, even those that have been sealed or expunged.

     

    General Information

     

    + The elements of the selection process may include a skill assessment and/or oral interview.

    + Applicants being considered for employment will be required to submit to a fingerprint-based background investigation, which will include a check of the criminal history records of the FBI. Fingerprints and associated information/biometrics will be retained in the FBI's Next Generation Identification (NGI) systen and fingerprints may continue to be compared against fingerprints submitted to or retained by NGI.

    + FLHSMV employees are paid once a month on the last workday of each month. All state employees are required to participate in the direct deposit program pursuant to s. 110.113 Florida Statutes.
