JOB SUMMARY

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Researches, analyzes, and develops intelligence from a variety of sources. The incumbent also promotes sharing of intelligence related to violent and organized crime and/or domestic and international terrorism. Provides analytical support to appropriate intelligence agencies. #oj
Minimum Requirements:
+ At least 18 years of age.
+ Must be able to comprehend and communicate fluently in verbal and written English.
+ U.S. Citizen or possess a current permanent resident card.
+ Clean criminal history; any arrest history will be individually evaluated.
+ No illegal drug usage within the past year. Other drug usage will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
+ Bachelor’s degree (B.A. /B.S.) in Criminal Justice, Statistical Analysis, or Military Intelligence or higher AND two (2) years related law enforcement analytical experience and/or training (i.e. Military Intelligence, Investigative, Crime or Intelligence Analysis) OR an equivalent combination of education or experience as determined by the criteria above.
+ The following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
+ Two (2) years of direct experience for an Associate Degree
+ Four (4) years of direct experience for a Bachelor's Degree
+ Must pass an extensive background check in order to obtain DHS (Department of Homeland Security) security clearance and a secret level national security clearance within six (6) months of employment.
+ Must be able to be FCIC/NCIC certified within three (3) months of employment.
+ Must complete 28 CFR Part 23 Privacy Training upon acceptance of the position.
+ Ability to collect, process, analyze, produce and disseminate intelligence/analytical products related to local, regional, state and national security (e.g., officer safety issues, suspicious activity reports, threats, and situational awareness on criminal or terrorist activity).
+ Ability to research many sources of information to analyze and develop actionable intelligence based on trends, patterns, and methods. Such resources may include law enforcement briefs or databases, information from other government entities, private sector partners, social media posts, websites, printed documents, recorded information and other various open source material.
+ Ability to respond, research, and determine a course of action for terrorism related tips from citizens and businesses submitted via suspicious activity reports (SARs). Forward tips to appropriate law enforcement agency for further investigation.
+ Ability to create and distribute intelligence products to include briefs, bulletins, threat assessments, subject work-ups, maps, flow charts, association charts, telephone toll reports, alerts, Situational Awareness Reports, and other analysis reports (e.g. financial, statistical).
+ Ability to answer late night or weekend calls to gather information for high-priority investigations.
+ Ability to analyze collected information to develop trends, patterns, and methods used by criminal elements.
+ Ability to observe individuals and groups who pose a local or national security threat. Observe criminal and extremists social media accounts and open source documentation.
+ Ability to provide analytical support and promote information sharing with all regional, state, and national entities. Develop and document actionable intelligence to alleviate gaps in the intelligence community.
+ Ability to liaise with community/public/businesses and attend neighboring Law Enforcement agency meetings to cultivate data and gather relevant intelligence-building information.
+ Ability to foster a seamless flow of communication and collaboration with agency stakeholders (e.g., homeland security, emergency services, public safety, and private sector partners) when completing special projects.
+ Ability to serve as system administrator for several intelligence databases (e.g., ACISS, Accurint, NICB, ETC.),
+ Ability to present and teach information related to criminal intelligence. Plan, host, facilitate, and emcee Quarterly Analytical Training for local, state, and national regional analysts. Facilitate trainings and meetings for agency partners. Assist and facilitate criminal intelligence training portion of the civilian academy. May serve as the Training Coordinator for associated agencies.
+ Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals/ publications, financial reports, and legal documents.
+ Ability to evaluate, analyze, interpret and write briefings and analytical reports that conform to a prescribed style and format.
+ Ability to effectively present information to and respond to questions and complaints from management, outside agencies, businesses, and the general public.
+ Ability to provide information to or perform work specifically for others outside of the Agency (e.g., Local, State, Federal, territorial and tribal law enforcement agencies and international partners, etc.).
+ Must have advanced computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, data base, and mapping applications.
+ Ability to conduct advanced online research and utilize social media websites to gain relevant intelligence information.
+ Ability to summarize pertinent data from various sources of information.
+ Ability to handle sensitive, confidential and classified information/material.
+ Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, frequency distribution, and correlation techniques.
+ Must have strong analytical and reasoning skills to include the ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and provide reasonable recommendations.
+ Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
+ Must be self-motivated, organized, and have effective interpersonal skills.
Depending on the location of assignment, may be required to perform one or more of the following in addition to regularly assigned duties:
+ Ability to research intelligence on extremism groups, threats to public officials, and other criminal activity related to individuals, groups, or trends.
+ Ability to be responsible for annual purge of intelligence files, reports and mutual aid forms. Acts as the point of contact within Criminal Intelligence Unit for public records.
+ Ability to participate in multiple full-scale exercises/drills/simulations in order to test communication avenues, share information and develop intelligence, locally and nationwide.
+ Ability to conduct specialty analysis to include Geographic Profile Analysis and Facial Recognition.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Florida Law Enforcement Analyst Academy Certification preferred (240 hour academy).
+ Knowledge of public records laws pertaining to the possession, dissemination, and destruction of records preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is generally performed in a standard office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. May be required to work irregular work hours to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
