    **PDS Tech Commercial** is seeking a **PLC Controls Engineer** to support post and parcel material handling projects across the country. This is a high-impact, travel-intensive role ideal for professionals with hands-on experience in PLC programming, HMI systems, and commissioning complex sortation systems.

    Role Summary

    As a **PLC Controls Enginee** r, you will lead the commissioning and testing of automated material handling systems, including high-speed sortation, scanning, and merging applications. You’ll manage the controls scope of projects, from planning through execution, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and technical standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Lead PLC programming, HMI configuration, and on-site commissioning activities

    + Manage project scope, schedule, and deliverables

    + Collaborate with project engineers and cross-functional teams

    + Develop and maintain technical documentation, QA/QC validations, and test plans

    + Execute system testing (BUAT/UAT/FAT) and provide post-installation support

    + Deliver customer training and ensure successful handoff

    Required Qualifications

    •Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

    • Up to 2 years of experience in controls engineering or material handling projects

    • Exposure to Allen-Bradley PLCs and Wonderware Aveva Edge (or similar HMI platforms)

    • Interest or experience in post and parcel operations is a plus

    Technical Expertise

    + **PLC & HMI Systems:** Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff, Wonderware Aveva Edge, SCADA

    + **Drives & Interfaces:** VFDs, scanner integration (SICK, Cognex), machine vision

    + **Software Tools:** Studio 5000, Logix 5000, RSLinx, FactoryTalk View, AutoCAD, Automation Studio

    + **Protocols:** Ethernet/IP, Profibus, WCS interfaces

    + **Additional Tools:** Ignition, SOPAS, Datalogic DataMan

    Soft Skills

    + Strong project planning and budgeting capabilities

    + Excellent communication and documentation skills

    + Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments

    + **Pay Rate:** $35 – $40/hr

    + **Schedule:** 1st Shift8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

    + **Travel:** Up to 90% nationwide

    **Pay Details:** $35.00 to $40.00 per hour
