Job Overview
Fairview is looking for a Nursing Station Attendant at the M Health Fairview Northland Medical Center in Princeton, MN! This position is **48 hours** every two weeks on the **Day/Evening** shift, for 8 hour shifts, and has no weekend rotation. This job is eligible for benefits such as medical, dental, and more.
Shift times: 6am-2:30pm and 11am-7:30pm

About this Unit:
Do you have an interest in working in a fast-paced healthcare setting? Then the Pre and Post Op Care Unit might be right for you! The NSAs in this 13 bed unit assist roughly 30 patients a day and are one of the first impressions a patient will have on the unit. Your support has a great impact on patient experience and ensuring the day runs smoothly. Typical tasks include patient intake, checking vitals, and cleaning and stocking rooms.
Job Responsibilities
The Nursing Station Attendant position is responsible for assisting with patient care, performing receptionist duties on the station, and maintaining patient care areas.
As a Nursing Station Attendant, your job responsibilities would include the following:
Receptionist duties, such as recording messages, assisting visitors, maintaining department specific information, and transmitting information to appropriate personnel. The NSA is also responsible for assembling and maintaining patient charts.
Communicate orders to appropriate information source and communicate pending orders/results to appropriate staff in a timely manner.
Assist with room turnover and maintenance:
+ Performs cleanup of OR, PAR and Anesthesia
+ Readies OR for next patient
+ Accurately cares for equipment and takes action for preventative maintenance
+ Transports specimens
+ Transports dirty case carts to decontamination area
+ Stocks rooms with patient care supplies and other supplies as needed
Provides patient care:
+ Assists in transfer/positioning of patients
+ Assists with preparation of patients for surgery (pre-op clips)
+ Transports patients
+ Acquires and documents patient vital signs
+ Documents all patient care tasks performed
Other duties as delegated
Required Qualifications
License/Certification/Registration
+ Basic Life Support (BLS for Healthcare Providers) certification required. Ontrack participants much be able to obtain Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification upon completion of the OnTrack program.
AND ONE or more of the following:
+ Successful completion of Fairview’s OnTrack Nursing Assistant training program or another Fairview sponsored Nursing Assistant program.
Or
+ Six months of recent direct care experience in a long term, home care or acute care setting. (Appropriate roles may include, Nursing Assistant, PCA, Resident Assistant or Emergency Room Technician)
Or
+ Current enrollment in an LPN, RN or Nurse Practitioner program, and completion of one (1) semester of clinical rotation within the program.
Or
+ Current certification on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry upon hire. This requirement does not need to be maintained throughout employment and is not required if subsequently transferring into another Nursing Assistant or Nursing Station Tech or Nursing Station Attendant position.
