    Job Description

    This position is accountable for the laboratory operations of their specific ESL site or service line. They will be responsible to meet the establish goals, provide quality services and the leadership skills to contribute to the success of the laboratory and the system.

     

    Education And Credentials

     

    BA - Bachelor of Arts Medical Technology or related field of service required. Current NYS eligibility as a supervisor is required.

    Experience

    Requires extensive knowledge and application of laboratory technology and regulations including NYS, College of American Pathologists, JCAHO, Medicare/Medicaid and others. Demonstrated thorough understanding of laboratory technology, methods, and service delivery. Thorough understanding of management and financial fundamentals of laboratory and related healthcare so as to effectively manage resources from a financial perspective and predict and respond to changes in healthcare environment. Ability to analyze, assess and articulate effective decisions; demonstrates support for and models teamwork as both leader and member. 6 years prior laboratory experience in a hospital or commercial based laboratory with prior supervisory or management experience required. Experience must demonstrate a track record of strong technical and management skills and the ability to balance continuous improvement with cost management. Interpersonal and communication skills are essential and focus on customer satisfaction. Ability to resolve conflict through persuasive and effective communications and consensus building. Ability to work collaboratively within large and small groups, as well as one on one in order to achieve desired results. Ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously.
