POSITION OVERVIEW
The successful candidate contributes to the flourishing of College Now at John Jay by monitoring and reporting on key program outcomes, and by interacting with high school students, high school staff, course instructors and college personnel across several activities that include recruitment work, orientations, attendance-taking, student success support, and standard administrative tasks. As such, s/he must possess excellent data-management skills, the capacity to connect constructively with young adults, and a stellar, well-tested, customer service ethic.
The College Now Academic Program Specialist is a full-time position reporting to David Jean-Paul, Director, College Now Program the incumbent will be responsible for the following:
+ **Work with College administration:** maintain contact with Registrar’s Office around census reporting, room reservations and other matters; coordinate campus tours for program students through Office of Admissions; work with Public Safety as events and circumstances require.
+ **Handle enrollment management functions:** responsible for intake and processing of student applications; notify students and school liaisons as to application status; produce student schedules: maintain student records.
+ **Work with Director** to plan recruitment and outreach activities; meet with students to explain program offerings, benefits, and eligibility requirements; coordinate with partner high school liaisons on logistics of recruitment/outreach activities at their sites.
+ **Manage retention-enhancement effort:** responsible for attendance monitoring; counsel students who have attendance issues; contribute ideas for bolstering student engagement.
+ **Maintain program databases:** related duties include accurate data input; on-time submission of standardized, scheduled reports; on-demand generation of reports on some categories of current operations data; and continuous analysis of program data systems for the purpose of continuous improvement of systems design.
+ **Oversee academic advisement** **:** offer group and individual advisement sessions where appropriate; maintain logs of advisement sessions; track outcomes in relation to student use of advisement.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and four years' relevant experience required.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful candidate will have experience working in college transition programming serving a diverse and representative student population.

- Supports program development, student service delivery, outcome evaluation and instructor/student recruitment, enrollment, and retention.
- Recommends, implements and evaluates strategies to expand program offerings
- Prepares analytical and statistical reports for management
- Develops and maintains relationships with various College offices to improve student and faculty services
- Serves as resource expert regarding program policies and procedures
- Oversees office recordkeeping; manages updates of program web and print materials
- May supervise office operations and/or department budget
- Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$70,238 - $86,645
Salary commensurate with education and experience.
CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases. Once implemented, salaries of eligible employees will be adjusted by 6.09% with additional increases of 3.25% effective 9/1/2025 and 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
