The Director, Employee Technology is a key leadership role within the Employee Technology Department, part of the Technology Division. This position is responsible for setting the vision and strategic direction for IT solutions that support the People and Payroll Technology organizations, including HR, Talent, Analytics, and Payroll. The Director oversees the successful implementation, integration, and ongoing support of critical technologies used by team members across the company.

+ Responsible for the following products: Employee Travel, Time and Attendance, Absence Management, Payroll, Learning and Development, Benefits, and Recruitment, Hire and Onboarding.
+ Responsible for the end-to-end delivery lifecycle of all solutions including architecture, development, and operational support of people and payroll systems
+ Drives organizational structure, process, and cultural improvements that result in rapid delivery and consistent execution of IT solutions
+ Creates and fosters high-performing teams that excel technically and are accountable for the products and processes they oversee
+ Develops and presents business case and related ROI to senior management for justification of investment in technology solutions
+ Partners with internal customers and with external vendors to manage system development and maintain system operational standards
+ Manages and directs software, hardware, and telecommunication providers, using Agile and DevOps practices to enhance operational efficiencies and accelerate delivery
+ Accountable for the resiliency and security aspects of all the technology developed by their team according to the established AA IT Standards
+ Stays current on emerging technologies, hardware, and software relevant to the industry
+ Responds to and manages incidents affecting owned products 24x7
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or related field
+ 10 years of experience with infrastructure technologies and software development
+ 7 years of technology leadership experience, including development, infrastructure, and architecture teams
+ Experience in the application of technology and financial practices related to technology investments
+ IT Operations experience for vital and/or critical systems
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
+ Master’s degree in a related field
+ Experience in the airline or transportation industry
+ Familiarity with Workday, ServiceNow, or other enterprise HR platforms
+ Experience with Agile methodologies and digital transformation initiatives
+ Strong vendor management and contract negotiation experience
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
+ Demonstrates the highest level of ethics and integrity
+ Excellent understanding of end-user needs, leading technologies, and applications
+ Demonstrated ability to deliver major system implementations
+ Proven ability to manage internal and external resources, as well as manage relationships with 3rd party providers and partners
+ Experience leading multi-sourced development teams (internal, external, on/offshore)
+ Demonstrated ability to solve, and to lead others in solving, complex analytical problems
+ Willingness to take calculated risks
+ Ability to build and facilitate relationships at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
+ Ability to be self-driven with a natural aptitude for engaging employees in multiple workgroups
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to effectively and clearly communicate a strategic vision; ability explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
+ Proficient with Microsoft Office software
