    Job Description

    The Assistant Golf Coach supports the Head Coach in all facets of the men’s and/or women’s golf program, including coaching, recruiting, travel planning, player development, and compliance with institutional, conference, and national association (NAIA or NCAA) policies. This part-time role is designed for a motivated individual passionate about golf, athlete mentorship, and contributing to the success of a competitive collegiate program.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Assist in planning and conducting daily practices and player development sessions.

    + Support in recruitment of qualified student-athletes in accordance with NAIA/NCAA and institutional guidelines.

    + Aid with scheduling, travel logistics, and budget tracking for competitions.

    + Promote student-athlete academic success and personal growth.

    + Maintain a strong understanding of and compliance with NAIA/NCAA rules and institutional policies.

    + Assist with administrative tasks, fundraising initiatives, and alumni engagement as directed.

    + Serve as a positive role model and mentor for student-athletes.

    + Assist in transportation of athletes to/from athletic events, which may include driving a full-size passenger van or other large capacity vehicle.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + One (1) year previous high school, collegiate or higher-level coaching and playing experience.

    + General knowledge of NAIA and NCAA rules.

    + Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.

    + Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

    + Oral and written communication skills.

    + Ability to travel and work beyond normal office hours.

    + Must have a State of Texas or Arkansas class "C" vehicle operator's license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.

    + Acceptable driving record and periodic completion of van safety course

    + Ability to maintain confidentiality.

    + Physical Requirements -

    + Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

    + Working in all weather conditions, exposure to high noise levels, standing throughout the day, the ability to use a loud voice at practices and events and physical involvement in all practices and workouts with players.

    + This position may be required to handle Protected Health Information (PHI) as defined by Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations, in accordance with System policy and is further required to complete FERPA and HIPAA training as a condition of employment, within a reasonable timeframe after employment and on an as-needed basis thereafter.

    This position does not generally supervise employees.
