Description We are looking for a meticulous and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team in Oakland, California. This is a Contract-to-long-term opportunity, offering the chance to work part-time with the potential to transition into a stable role. Our company specializes in providing bookkeeping and payroll services to small businesses, and we need someone who is eager to contribute their expertise in QuickBooks and accounting.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records tailored to small businesses, including grocery stores and gas stations.

• Process payroll efficiently using online third-party payroll software for a diverse client base.

• Perform data entry and categorize financial transactions to ensure proper documentation.

• Conduct bank reconciliations to verify account balances, though this is not mandatory.

• Collaborate with the team to support after-the-fact bookkeeping services, excluding accounts payable and receivable.

• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

• Provide periodic reports and summaries to assist with financial decision-making processes. Requirements • Proficiency in QuickBooks is essential.

• At least some prior accounting experience, such as an internship, is required.

• A degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.

• Familiarity with Excel and basic data entry techniques.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial documentation.

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

• Ability to learn and adapt to new processes and software quickly.
