Description
Robert Half's marketing agency client in South San Francisco is actively seeking a talented and driven Accountant to join their dynamic finance team.
As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining financial records, preparing key financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute directly to our financial integrity and growth.
Responsibilities:
+ Manage and perform various general ledger account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
+ Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with GAAP.
+ Actively participate in the accurate and timely completion of month-end and year-end close processes.
+ Process and verify financial transactions, including journal entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
+ Conduct variance analysis, investigating differences between actual and budgeted/forecasted results.
+ Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
+ Maintain fixed asset records and calculate depreciation.
+ Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
+ Assist with internal and external audit preparation by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
+ Research and interpret basic accounting guidance for new transactions.
+ Identify and propose opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the accounting department.
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
+ Prepare various financial reports and ad-hoc analyses as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
+ 2-4 years of progressive experience in an accounting role.
+ Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics.
+ Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.).
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
+ High level of accuracy and organizational skills.
+ Strong time management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
