    Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems (NGAS) is looking for a **Final Assembly Inspector Level 2/3** to support the **3/10's 1st Shift** Delivery Inspection team located at the **Palmdale, CA** facility.

    Responsibilities include:

    + Visually and physically inspect aircraft fuselage structure, system and electrical installations for conformance to engineering requirements using a variety of precision measurement equipment and inspection tools including, but not limited to; flashlights, mirrors, calipers, micrometers, ball gages, laser gauges, depth gages, borescopes, etc.

    + Structure inspections include assembly location, gap verification, shim installation, hole drilling, fastener installation, sealing, and coatings.

    + System installations include tube, hose, valve, fastener, and fitting installations, as well as sealing and coatings common to hydraulic, pneumatic, and fuel systems.

    + Electrical installations include wire routes, clamping, string tie, connector mating, pin insertion, crimping, and coatings.

    + Locate, identify, and accurately document nonconforming product/material at time of discovery per applicable procedures.

    + Visually and physically inspect rework and repair for compliance per engineering requirements.

    + Mentor technicians on nonconforming product/material discovered during inspection to include engineering requirements, how to identify the nonconformance and overall process improvement.

    + Develop, promote, and maintain collaborative team environment with fellow inspectors, support organizations, and customers.

    + Work well as part of a team and individually to increase quality, efficiency, effectiveness, and affordability through process improvement and other quality control methods.

    + Must be able to pass formal classroom training to include but not limited to; hole drilling, sealing, countersinking, and fastener installation.

    Basic Qualifications Level 2:

    + High School Diploma plus 2 years relevant mechanical and/or inspection work experience.

    + Must have experience/familiarity with inspection tools

    + Must be willing to work any shift (4/10's 1st/2nd shift, 3/10's 1st /2nd shift), overtime, and/or non-standard work schedule.

    + Must be able to work around composites, epoxies, and sealants for long periods of time.

    + Must be technically proficient in Microsoft Office Suite to include but not limited to; Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

    + Must be able to perform moderately strenuous physical and repetitious work to include climbing, bending, crawling, stooping, kneeling, lifting, working with arms overhead, leaning, and laying.

    + Must be able to certify for half-face and full-face respirator(s).

    + Must be able to pass a physical exam.

    + Must be able to lift, grip, push, pull, and hold 25+ pounds.

    + Must be able to work in and around confined spaces to include but not limited to; fuel tanks, ducts, etc.

    + Must be able to push and pull own body weight to enter and exit confined spaces.

    + Active Secret Clearance.

    + Active Special Program Access.

    + Material Review Board (MRB) process experience preferred.

     

    Salary Range: $59,300.00 - $98,900.00Salary Range 2: $70,400.00 - $117,400.00

     

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

     

    Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
