    Description

    Astronics Custom Control Concepts (ACCC) designs, engineers, manufactures and certifies innovative, reliable digital in-flight entertainment and cabin management systems (IFE/CMS) for the corporate, private and VIP aircraft industry. Our custom digital applications have been installed and commissioned on a wide range of VIP/VVIP narrowbody and widebody platforms in addition to numerous private and utility jet, turboprop, and helicopter models. ACCC is a world leader in designing and integrating custom digital IFE/CMS systems. Our product line covers every facet of in-flight entertainment and cabin management control including: entertainment, lighting, call, temperature, audio/video on demand, tablet integration, real-time 3-D moving map, and much more. We also offer customized graphical user interfaces accessible on our touchscreens, allowing seamless and intuitive control of the IFE/CMS system.

    Summary:

    Develop test plans and execute them for both hardware and software products. Is self-motivated and able to work independently with complete end-to-end ownership of the testing process from the design phase all the way through to validating the final products. Is able to test products integrated into a large complex system. Able to provide mentoring and leadership to other teammates or engineers in other departments.

    Responsibilites:

    + Analyze product specifications to ensure they meet requirements

    + Develop product test plans which includes checking boundary and stress conditions

    + Set up test systems in an engineering lab and execute test plans

    + Write up task reports when issues are discovered

    + Follow through to validate that fixed issues have been resolved

    + Verify that final products meet their specifications

    + Assist other departments to maintain timeliness of projects

    + Responsible for testing complex integrated systems

    + Ability to provide mentoring and leadership for other engineers

    Education:

    + BS degree in Computer science of Engineering preferred

    + 10 years’ industry experience.

    + A Masters in engineering or computer science would be considered as 2 years’ industry experience, PHD as 5 years’.

    Experience:

    + Strong verbal and written communication skills

    + Experience testing complex embedded electronics, preferably for aircraft desired

    + Experience testing software applications and embedded systems preferred

    + Good working knowledge of Ethernet networking and security

    + Experience with Issue & Project Tracking systems desired; preferably Jira

    + Ability to communicate effectively with management and clients

    + Ability to use electronics tools such as multimeter and oscilloscope desirable

    + Logical and analytic mindset that is good at problem solving

    + Skills in programming, electrical engineering, and soldering are desirable

    + Thorough with an attention to detail

    Physical:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

    Work Environment:

    The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts or is exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

     

    An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a drug test and background check, and applicants who do not successfully pass both the drug test and background check will not be considered for employment.

     

    The salary range specified is applicable to positions within the Washington State and reflects various factors considered in compensation decisions. These factors include, but are not limited to, individual skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and the specific needs of our business and organization. At Astronics CSC, it is uncommon for new hires to receive an offer at or near the top end of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are made based on the unique facts and circumstances of each candidate. The current estimated yearly salary range for this position is $86,430 to $129,645 per year. In addition, you will be eligible for our Quarterly Incentive compensation bonus. Astronics offers a competitive salary, along with opportunities for career growth.
