We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Purchasing Department Leaderto oversee our purchasing team and daily operations. This role includes direct responsibility for domestic sourcing and requires a strong focus on performance management, supplier relationships, and continuous process improvement. You’ll play a key role in shaping the department’s structure, practices, and long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
+ Team Leadership & Development
+ Lead, mentor, and develop purchasing team members.
+ Align team structure with evolving business needs.
+ Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
+ Sourcing & Supplier Management
+ Personally manage key domestic sourcing activities.
+ Select and develop suppliers based on cost, quality, and technology.
+ Negotiate contracts and maintain stable, long-term supplier relationships.
+ Act as the escalation point for logistics and global trade issues.
+ Operational Excellence
+ Consolidate sourcing responsibilities to streamline operations.
+ Ensure ERP/MRP systems support effective material acquisition strategies.
+ Oversee inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and excess inventory reviews.
+ Drive cost reduction through competitive sourcing and negotiation.
+ Strategic Planning & Collaboration
+ Set and execute departmental goals in partnership with the Director of Operations.
+ Integrate KPIs and dashboards to monitor sourcing and inventory performance.
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, accounting, sales, and external partners.
+ Influence product lifecycle decisions and manage End-of-Life planning.
+ Market & Data Analysis
+ Analyze market trends to inform major purchasing decisions.
+ Recommend product pricing based on cost analysis and market research.
Required Skills & Qualifications
+ Proven experience in purchasing, vendor management, and data analysis.
+ Minimum 3 years of experience in raw materials sourcing.
+ Experience managing direct reports and leading teams.
+ Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $51.00/hr.
