    Job Title: Technical Writer/Trainer (Active Secret Clearance)

    Job Description

    Join a high-performing team dedicated to developing technical documentation for advanced military systems, including radars for F-22, F-35, Joint Strike Fighter, F-16, B-1B, MESA, G/ATOR, VADER, and other UAV systems.

    Responsibilities

    + Write, rewrite, and edit technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to a diverse audience.

    + Oversee the preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts.

    + Conduct quality reviews of materials.

    + Publish materials in various formats, including page-based, electronic (basic and interactive), and structured (HTML, XML, and SGML).

    + Collaborate with task leads, writers, engineers, and instructors to develop and deliver sensor/system technical manuals in varying levels of detail and delivery formats.

    + Perform Desktop Publishing tasks for program/project reports, whitepapers, articles, and other documents.

    + Research and compile information from program documents and engineering sources to develop manual outlines and adhere to military/civilian specifications and standards of technical writing.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s Degree in STEM discipline or related field, or military operations and maintenance experience with radar, communications, electro-optics, networks, and information technology-based sensors/systems.

    + Expert knowledge of MS Office Products.

    + Minimum of 2 years’ experience with structured authoring applications such as MadCap, FrameMaker, or Arbortext.

    + Proven ability to manage several tasks simultaneously.

    + Excellent attention to detail.

    + Possess and maintain Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.

    + Self-starter and engaged team member.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Minimum of 5 years’ technical writing experience.

    + Knowledge of standard content management strategies.

    + Knowledge of Simplified Technical English (ASD-STE 100).

    + Knowledge of standards – XML, SGML, HTML, S1000 – for structured content.

    + Possess and maintain DoD Secret or Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI).

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $52.00/hr.
