    Responsibilities

    + Maintain working knowledge of current surgeons and their instrumentation, supply, equipment, and positioning needs

    + Develop and maintain par levels of disposable supplies, coordinating with materials manager to maintain stock

    + Develop and maintain inventory lists of disposable supplies by specialty

    + Assess instrumentation needs, and coordinate with OR manager or designee to order any new or replacement instrumentation needed

    + Monitor upcoming schedule for instrument and disposable item needs, coordinating with vendor reps, materials manager, or other individuals to ensure timely arrival of supplies.

    + Collaborate with OR manager to update and maintain surgeon preference cards and usage sheets

    + Collaborate with sterile processing to develop and update instrument set count sheets for each specialty

    + Maintain working relationships with surgeons in each specialty in order to assess physician satisfaction and address any supply, positioning, equipment, or instrumentation needs that may arise

    + Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to determine new purchase or stock items, to include appropriateness, physician satisfaction, cost effectiveness, patient and teammate safety features, and all other aspects of product selection.

    + Collaborate with clinical leadership team to create and perform selected Quality Improvement activities throughout the year in selected specialties

    + Assist with development and expansion of new service lines as opportunities arise

    + Coordinate education opportunities for teammates to include in-services, new product demonstrations, and other service line related educations

    Qualifications

    + High School Graduate or equivalent

    Preferred:

    + Graduate of a recognized and accredited surgical technologist program with current surgical technologist certification Or Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current state nursing licensure to practice in good standings.

    + Current BLS certification, or successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of employment.

    + Minimum 2 years previous experience in either a hospital or ambulatory surgical center setting preferred.

    + Excellent knowledge of aseptic and sterile technique.

    + Ability to tolerate prolonged periods of standing and walking.

    + Ability to work with minimal supervision and to organize work in order of importance.

    + Ability to work effectively in stressful situations and in a variety of peri-operative environments.

    + Proficiency and knowledge of instrumentation and supplies needed for different surgeons and case types

     

    USD $16.00/Hr. USD $22.00/Hr.
