Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

Salary Range

$149,600.00 - $246,800.00

What Is the Opportunity?

At Travelers, our Cybersecurity Engineering teams are responsible for the overall implementation and management of strategic platforms that provide oversight, process management, protection and enablement of security control processes and allow for an effective Cybersecurity practice. As a Lead Cybersecurity Specialist, you will drive the technical and strategic direction of a team of cybersecurity professionals who are responsible for the successful configuration, enhancement, automation, and implementation across multiple cybersecurity platforms. You are responsible for the technical oversight of all programs in its entirety, including the strategic roadmap and enterprise alignment with other technologies.

What Will You Do?

+ Provide high level technical cybersecurity design, solutions, and innovations to critical and complex issues and initiatives.

+ Drive the strategic planning and roadmap creation for the team.

+ Recommend and sponsor purchases and/or licensed software products to identify and address security imperatives.

+ Represent Cybersecurity organization at design and technology meetings.

+ Act as a sponsor across multiple enterprise projects.

+ Assist with Automation efforts and great end user experiences.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

+ Degree or certificate in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.

+ 10 years of experience in Information Technology Security Engineering or Software engineering.

+ Broad knowledge of computing and automation concepts.

+ Experience with system, network, and OS hardening techniques, and host/network access control mechanisms.

+ Expert knowledge of cybersecurity privacy principles, cyber threats and vulnerabilities, and cyber defense and information security policies, procedures, and regulations.

+ Ability to apply cybersecurity and privacy principles to organization requirements such as confidentiality, integrity, authentication, and non-repudiation.

+ Ability to see the big picture and is fully aware of enterprise technology and business directions.

+ Demonstrated experience in developing and planning effective strategies with the ability to influence others to implement those strategies.

What is a Must Have?

+ High school diploma or equivalent required.

+ Seven years of work experience within Computer Science or a related field required.

+ One year of experience as a technical lead required.
