    Job Description

    The Lead Cook role is responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations to ensure a smooth, efficient, and high-quality culinary environment. This includes supervising kitchen staff, maintaining food safety and quality standards, and supporting menu planning and inventory management. The position often involves working alongside the team as a line cook while also providing leadership, training, and guidance to ensure consistent performance and a positive kitchen culture.

    Responsibilities

    + Supervise the kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.

    + Maintain high standards of food quality and safety.

    + Assist with menu planning and inventory management.

    + Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts.

    + Follow recipes and cooking techniques to ensure consistency.

    + Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.

    + Ensure all equipment is in good working order and report any issues to management.

    + Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure prompt preparation and serving of orders.

    + Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.

    Essential Skills

    + Proven experience as a Chef with strong knife skills.

    + Comfortable working in a kitchen environment.

    + Ability to perform heavy lifting and handle hot and cold food preparation.

    + Excellent management and customer service skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in food preparation and service.

    + Knowledge of foodservice operations.

    Work Environment

     

    The position is based in a high-end cafeteria, reporting to the Sous Chef. Work hours are from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The dress code includes black khaki pants, a black polo shirt, and black shoes.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract position based out of Irving, Texas.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
