The Division of Continuing Education at the University of Colorado Boulder is hiring an Assistant Teaching Professor position in the field of Sociology for the spring 2026 semester.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Teach a total of four undergraduate courses per semester, with at least two being online for the Division of Continuing Education and the option for up to two in-person courses through the Sociology Department. This appointment is comprised of 85% teaching responsibilities and 15% service activities as needed by the Division of Continuing Education.

This is a non-tenure track Teaching Assistant Professor position with a three-year renewable contract.
What We Can Offer
The starting salary for this 100% appointment is $60,000 over the 9-month academic year (Spring 2026 semester will be paid $30,000). Additional compensation may be available for summer employment, primarily teaching.

What We Require
+ The ideal candidate should possess a Ph.D. in Sociology.
+ Candidates should have a strong commitment to teaching excellence, demonstrated through prior teaching experience with undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds in a broad spectrum of Sociology courses, including Introduction to Sociology, Social Theory, Sociological Research Methods, and Social Problems.
+ The candidate should be able to embrace innovative technologies that enhance student learning and develop and deliver high-quality courses in multiple modalities (i.e., both online and in-person).
+ Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as the role may involve mentoring students, contributing to curriculum development, and participating in divisional and departmental service activities.
