    **_Sonix_** (www.sonix.com), a part of Tektronix, has been the technology leader for the advanced scanning acoustic microscopy used in packaged semiconductor and wafer inspection services. We were the first to introduce PC-based digital imaging solutions, and since our founding we have consistently led the way with innovations that support continuous improvement in our customers’ products and processes.

     

    Sonix is seeking a **Sr. Manufacturing Engineer** responsible for technical assembly and manufacturing troubleshooting of our next generation of scanning acoustic microscope products. You will be part of the operations team working on ensuring successful integration of electro-mechanical systems.

    In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

    + Work with manufacturing technicians to evaluate system designs and propose product changes and waivers as needed while meeting manufacturing deadlines and rigorous quality standards.

    + Managing system integration work for electro-mechanical systems, certifying operational testing, and troubleshooting issues as they appear. The successful candidate will be expected to use both fundamental technical knowledge as well as practical hands-on experience to ensure success while resolving challenging engineering problems.

    + Assisting lifecycle and design engineering teams with system updates and new product manufacturing

    + Assisting Field service teams with sustainment engineering activities to troubleshoot and resolve issues at customer sites, with the potential for occasional international travel (<10%)

    + Leverage electrical and controls experience to troubleshoot electrical and motion control subsystems for product platforms

    + Support full product lifecycle management and responsibility for transitioning products from engineering to production and service so they can be supported as standard product.

    Education and Experience Required:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred. Relevant alternative experience will be considered

    + 5+ years’ experience in a highly technical environment, with a background in electro-mechanical devices and motion control systems

    + Must be able to interpret mechanical system and wiring diagrams.

    + Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

    + Hands-on lifecycle support or field service experience desired.

    + Experienced with quality management systems.

    + Strong commitment to quality, attention to detail, Written, Verbal, and Interpersonal skills.

    It would be a plus if you also possess:

    + Certified in Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, or similar Business Systems

    + Advanced Degree (MS)

    + Familiarity with one or more of the following: Pneumatic Systems, motion control, ultrasonic transducers, signal processing

    + Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally as needed (<15%)

    Bonus or Equity

     

    This position is also eligible for bonus as part of the total compensation package.

    Pay Range

    The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 81,200.00 - 150,800.00

     

    Is this role subject to ITAR?

     

    The essential duties of this position require adherence to U.S. Government export control regulations. Accordingly, candidates must either be U.S. Persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents, or protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) or be prepared to collaborate with the company in securing the necessary U.S. government export authorizations.
