    The Position

    Custodial Workers perform general cleaning services to State facilities using various cleaning equipment and materials to provide a safe, hygienic and orderly work environment.

     

    Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.

     

    The Office of the Military is seeking to fill a Custodial Worker 2 in Reno. The Custodial Worker 2 performs tasks such as dusting, supplies are stocked in restrooms, maintaining the cleanliness and safety of buildings and facilities. They work under the supervision of a custodial supervisor and follow established procedures and safety guidelines. The incumbent will also clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, and other facilities, vacuum, sweep and mop floors, dust and wipe down surfaces, empty trash and recycling bins, report any maintenance or safety issues to supervisor, perform routine cleaning tasks, and assist with setting up events. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED.     To Qualify:

    In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

    Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

     

    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial, industrial, hospital, governmental or similar environment; OR six months of general work experience and one year of custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial, industrial, hospital, governmental or similar environment; OR six months of experience as a Custodial Worker I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

     

    Special Notes

     

    Incumbents may be required to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays in addition to their normal work schedules.

    Special Requirements

    This position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

     

    Additional Position Criteria

     

    This position requires a valid Real ID at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
