FlynnO'Hara School Uniforms is currently hiring a Full-Time Assistant Store Manager for our Lanham, MD retail location. This role supports overall store operations, including sales, staffing, customer service, and inventory management to ensure an exceptional in-store experience and drive profitability. This position does not require nights and is closed on Sundays.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Take charge of store operations in the absence of the Store Manager.
+ Help supervise and guide team members in sales, inventory control, cash handling, and customer service.
+ Monitor and enforce adherence to weekly scheduling to maintain optimal floor coverage; verify accuracy of station assignments.
+ Ensure outstanding customer service by coaching staff to greet and assist customers and by resolving issues promptly and professionally.
+ Regularly review sales trends and inventory levels; submit timely restock requests to ensure product availability.
+ Encourage the use of product knowledge to boost sales and service quality.
+ Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment; train staff in visual merchandising standards.
+ Oversee daily cash handling procedures, including opening/closing duties, deposits, and reconciliations.
+ Implement and enforce loss prevention practices to safeguard cash, inventory, and company assets.
+ Support hiring efforts, onboarding, and employee development; provide feedback, coaching, and training to reduce turnover and promote growth.
+ Foster a sales-driven culture by modeling effective behaviors, motivating the team, and creating an outstanding guest experience.
+ Maximize customer engagement through consistent email capture and communication efforts.
+ Be available to attend school events, company meetings, and off-site assignments as needed.
+ Lead physical inventory counts, oversee receiving of merchandise, and report any discrepancies.
+ Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or equivalent required.
+ Minimum of 3 years of retail experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Windows-based systems.
+ Strong analytical skills to interpret sales and inventory reports.
+ Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.
+ Proven ability to lead and develop teams, resolve conflicts, and drive performance.
+ Adaptable and composed in a fast-paced environment.
+ Skilled in delegation, prioritization, and time management.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication, along with strong interpersonal skills.
+ Comfortable standing, walking, and performing physical tasks for extended periods; ability to lift up to 30 lbs. and perform physical activities such as bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching regularly.
