    The Airborne Sensors & Avionics Integration Department is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Systems Engineering and Test Center (SETC) team in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role involves developing innovative solutions to address customer needs by providing tailored engineering services and products for unique customer missions.

    What You Will Do

    + Develop and manage system requirements and interface specifications for the V-22 platform

    + Support architecture modeling, trade studies, and design analysis using structured MBSE approaches

    + Integrate avionics subsystems including communications (UHF/VHF/SATCOM), navigation, and mission planning components

    + Perform system verification planning, test case generation, and regression testing

    + Collaborate with hardware and software teams to ensure compliance with SEMP and government standards (e.g., MIL-STD-1553B, DO-178C)

    + Ensure compliance with Statement of Work (SOW) across all phases of the systems engineering lifecycle

    + Prepare and deliver engineering documentation and technical briefings to internal and external stakeholders

    + Follow established processes for control account management and support earned

    Qualifications** **You Must Have

    + Requires a bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience

    + V-22 aircraft and platform support for sustainment efforts related to next-generation avionics, with responsibilities to include software development lifecycle phases: design, coding, testing, and maintenance

    + Proficiency in managing system requirements and producing technical documentation (e.g., specifications, allocation matrices, verification artifacts

    + The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

    Qualifications** **We Prefer

    + Current Active DoD Secret or higher Clearance

    + DOORS, DOORS NextGen, Cameo Systems Modeler (SysML), and Jira

    + Avionics communication systems (UHF/VHF/SATCOM) and mission planning tools

    + Experience supporting internal gate reviews, SETRs, and other lifecycle design assessments

    + Control account management experience

    + Exposure to government standards such as MIL-HDBK-516C, MIL-STD-882E, and DO-254

    The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

     

    RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

     

    This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
