Job Description

This is to cover a maternity leave from approximately from August to beginning of November.

Marcus Whitman is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Middle School Counselor to support the academic, social, and emotional well-being of students in grades [6-8]. The ideal candidate will provide guidance and counseling services, implement proactive programs, and collaborate with staff and families to foster a positive school environment.

Key Responsibilities

+ Provide individual and group counseling to students on academic, social, and emotional issues.

+ Develop and implement school-wide programs to promote mental health, well-being, and positive behavior.

+ Assist students with academic planning, goal setting, and career exploration.

+ Mediate conflicts and provide crisis intervention as needed.

+ Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student success.

+ Conduct assessments and interpret data to identify student needs and track progress.

+ Maintain confidentiality and accurate records in accordance with school policies and legal guidelines.

+ Promote an inclusive, safe, and supportive learning environment for all students.

Job Qualifications

Must have or working toward NYS Certification.
