This is a non-bargaining unit position. Responsibilities As a SUPERVISORY ECONOMIST, you will perform the following duties: Supervise and direct a staff of economists essential to the management and development of a regulatory analysis program. Direct, manage, and oversee economic analyses. Serve as an economic advisor to the Assistant Director (AD) and Deputy Assistant Director (DAD) for a wide spectrum of analysis matters. Supervise a staff of economists at the GS-14 and lower levels performing work in regulatory systems to ensure that ICE's actions are consistent with economic principles and sound public policy. In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications below, you must also possess one of the following to satisfy the Individual Occupational Requirement for the GS-0110 job series: A. Degree: economics, that included at least 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting, or calculus. OR B. Combination of education and experience: courses equivalent to a major in economics, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Minimum qualifications requirements: You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-14 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Managed, directed, or oversaw the economic analyses essential to the management and development of a regulatory analysis program. Served as the lead technical authoritative advisor on cost-benefit analysis and regulatory flexibility analysis of federal regulations. Oversaw the assessment of burden impacts associated with information collection requests, consistent with the Paperwork Reduction Act. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
