Senior Paralegal

Job Summary: Provides advanced paralegal support to attorneys in the CaroMont Health, Inc. Legal Affairs Department, including drafting and reviewing contracts, corporate and regulatory filings, correspondence, and other documents. As directed, communicates with management, providers, outside counsel, and other staff members. Coordinates, reviews, and assists department attorneys with resolution of legal matters in areas of contracting, healthcare regulations, governance, litigation, employment/labor law, and other areas as assigned. Coordinates external and internal matters for department attorneys, including contract workflows and databases. As assigned, attends hearings, meetings, and other activities related to job responsibilities. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to professionally liaison between corporate counsel, other business units, and external contacts in furtherance of the required legal assignments. Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals that contribute to the success of the organization; and serves as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.
Qualifications: Associate's degree with five years or a high school diploma or equivalent with seven years of relevant professional paralegal experience required. Paralegal certificate preferred. Experience in a corporate setting preferred. Prior experience with contract workflow and database management, supplier contracting, healthcare services contracting, real property transaction, and/or other related contracting experience required. Prior experience with healthcare regulations or corporate governance preferred. Must have strong communication skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively with professionals at all levels. Computer proficiency and detail orientation required, including but not limited to demonstrated proficiency in MS Office and electronic calendars. Professional grammar required. Ability to relieve Legal Counsel of administrative details when appropriate. Multi-tasking and confidentiality required. Superior analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills are required. Must have ability to work with changing priorities and work independently with “can do” attitude.
