    Machine Operator

     

    This position sets up and operates a production machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelines.

    Job Summary

    + Uses computer-controlled equipment to select, position and secure automatic or semi-automatic machines

    + Controls and adjusts machine settings to complete simple tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion.

    + Operates manufacturing machines as instructed by supervisory personnel to produce parts to meet company standards for quality and quantity.

    + Checks and inspect parts with guidance from supervisor for conformance to quality standards

    + Reports machine discrepancies and production problems to minimize downtime and scrap

    + Keeps work area clean and orderly for efficiency and safety

    + Maintains records on time, job, part, operation, etc. for production reporting

    + Works with deburring and grinding equipment

    + Work from verbal and written direction of others

     

    Required Skills and Qualifications

     

    + Ability to read and understand blueprints

    + Ability to read and understand G or M code

     

    Required Experience and Education

     

    + H.S. Diploma or GED

    + 1+ years related experience
