    Position Title: Railroad Program Support- Structures, Emerging Talent Intern

     

    Hourly Rate: $19.00 ( Undergraduate )

    OVERVIEW OF DEPARTMENT:

    Railroad Program Support is responsible for managing the scope, schedule, quality, and safety of LIRR In-House Force Account crafts and projects. Our department goal is to manage critical infrastructure assets to maintain operating conditions which include safety, reliability, efficiency, longevity, and customer service.

    RESPONSIBILITIES :

    + Coordinate the development of Force Account(F/A) scope

    + Assist in developing and reviewing F/A estimate and schedule in line with project scope.

    + Process project submittals and deliverables.

    + Support the development of project summaries reporting for upper management.

    + Coordinate the monitoring of Project Cost, Schedule, and Estimate.

    + Support the review and validation of F/A and supporting vendors transmittals invoices.

    + Assist on-site field visit, reporting and coordinating between various departments.

    + Developing progress, projects, and coordination meeting agendas.

     

    Preparing meeting minutes

    PROJECTS:

    + Viaduct expansion, joint repairs and waterproofing.

    + Station building rehabilitation (Roofs, floors/windows interior/exterior work, ramps/stairs and platforms).

    + Expansion and fixed bearing replacements for pedestrian bridges that connect station platforms.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must .

     

    The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication skills.

     

    The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.

     

    The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION:

    Matriculated in a graduate program in good standing with at least 2.8 GPA

     

    Major(s) Preferred: Finance, Business Administration, Financial Analysis, Engineering, or related field.
