In this position you will be responsible for conducting investigations of complaints regarding licensed and unlicensed practice involving professional occupational licenses. As a Professional Occupational Licensing Investigator, you will: * Investigate complaints alleging unprofessional conduct against professional occupational licenses * Investigative complaints alleging unlicensed practice * Coordinate with prosecuting attorney to formulate case plan and strategies * Research and analyze records obtained from healthcare facilities, businesses, and individuals * Interview witnesses and respondents * Prepare impartial and unbiased investigation reports and supporting documents * Testify at administrative hearings *KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:* If you are the right person for this opportunity, you will have the following knowledge, skills or abilities: * Knowledge of different investigation methods including records requests, in depth analysis of documentation, and other means of research. * Familiarity with different interview techniques and the ability to develop rapport. * Ability to effectively communicate complex information both verbally and in writing * Familiarity of Laws & Rules pertaining to unprofessional conduct involving Professional Occupational Licenses. * Knowledge of Department of Labor & Industry Employment Standards Division administrative procedures. * Ability to work independently and in a team environment. *PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS* As an investigator you will be mainly in an office setting usually typing or on the phone. A 40-hour workweek is typical but occasionally irregular hours as necessary. Travel is occasionally required in some cases. *MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS* Candidates with a strong mix of the attributes listed in the above Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) are desired. Candidates may demonstrate competency in the KSAs through experience, formal education (including certificates, credentials, or degree-based programs), or a combination of both. Candidates may demonstrate competency in the KSAs through at least 6 years of experience, formal education (including certificates, credentials, or degree-based programs), or a combination of the two.
