Environmental Planner – CEQA/NEPA
Employment Type: Contract
Pay Range: \$39.00 – \$46.00/hour (based on experience)

• Key Responsibilities
+ Prepare portions of CEQA and NEPA documents (IS/MNDs, EIRs, EAs, EISs)
+ Research and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations
+ Coordinate with public agencies to address CEQA/NEPA-related comments
+ Conduct land use planning and demographic analysis
+ Develop technical reports, special studies, and mapping deliverables
+ Interpret model data and support project managers on fast-paced assignments
+ Document meetings, develop scopes of work, and monitor budgets and schedules
+ Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high quality standards
+ Participate in internal and client meetings, contributing to project strategy and execution
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Natural Science, Biology, Botany, Wildlife Management, or related field
+ Minimum 3 years of experience in environmental consulting or public planning in Southern California
+ Hands-on experience with CEQA and NEPA documentation
+ Familiarity with regulatory review and intergovernmental affairs
+ Strong writing, organizational, and communication skills
+ Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
+ Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
• Desired Skills
+ Experience in cultural resource management, historic preservation, and AB52/SB18 compliance
+ Familiarity with GPS/GIS tools (Trimble, ArcGIS), LiDAR, and HABS/HAER documentation
+ Ability to write technical reports such as CRMPs, HIAs, and environmental assessments
+ Experience working with tribal, federal, state, and local agencies

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $39.00 - $46.00/hr.
