Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

This position involves producing plastic sheet products using various extrusion machines to meet customer specifications. Responsibilities include startup and shutdown procedures, troubleshooting, quality control inspections, proper packaging, material handling, and training in process operations. Once machines are operational, they may run continuously for up to two weeks. You will monitor the machine and take measurements every two hours, as well as use a forklift approximately every 45 minutes to manage pallets. The role requires consistent machine monitoring to ensure optimal performance.

Responsibilities

+ Operate extrusion machines to produce plastic sheet products according to customer specifications.

+ Perform startup and shutdown procedures and troubleshoot any issues.

+ Conduct quality control inspections and ensure proper packaging and material handling.

+ Train and be trained in process operations.

+ Monitor machines continuously and perform measurements every two hours.

+ Use forklift to move pallets, approximately every 45 minutes.

+ Ensure machine operations look, sound, and smell right through regular inspections.

Essential Skills

+ 1-2 years of machine operating experience.

+ Ability to lift 40-50 lbs regularly.

+ Willingness to learn forklift operation if not already experienced.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Extrusion experience is ideal.

+ Any experience in plastic manufacturing is advantageous.
