Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

The Machine Operator is responsible for overseeing various packaging operations, including technical operation, setup, basic adjustments, and performance levels for all packaging equipment. Additionally, the role involves chocolate manufacturing and the technical operation, setup, basic adjustments, and performance levels for several pieces of candy-making equipment. This position works under the direction of the Production Supervisor and/or Lead Person, ensuring sound judgment, adequacy, and accuracy in the scope of duties.

Responsibilities

+ Correlate production tallies with the Production Supervisor.

+ Execute packaging and processing operations.

+ Maintain clear, open, and positive communication with the Supervisor and/or Lead Person overseeing the assignment and performance of Production Workers.

+ Follow Company-established Sanitation/Quality Assurance/HACCP and GMP procedures to ensure product quality.

+ Comply with company and OSHA safety policies.

+ Maintain cleanliness of the work area and machinery, performing specified cleaning at the end of product run and shift, and oversee Production Workers' end-of-shift sanitation duties.

+ Offer suggestions to management on improving efficiency, safety, and working conditions.

+ Perform and record hourly metal detector checks, package verification checks, and weight checks as assigned.

+ Ensure lot traceability and assist in inventory control as requested.

+ Maintain flexibility to perform any other duties as needed, such as working as a Production Worker in various roles.

Essential Skills

+ Fundamental knowledge to read work-related material and follow directions.

+ Working knowledge of assigned areas, acquired through 1 to 4 years of applicable experience.

+ Understanding of mechanical components and/or electronic controls of equipment.

+ Positive and effective verbal and written communication skills with co-workers, Supervisor, and/or Lead Person.

+ Ability to perform as a team member, supporting co-workers, company policy, and production standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ High School Diploma or GED.

+ Production/Manufacturing experience preferred.

This is a Permanent position based out of York, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33280.00 - $47840.00/yr.
