Position Specific Description

+ **Experience:** 1-3 years in data analysis, statistical modeling, or business intelligence

+ **Technical Skills:** Proficiency in Python/R, SQL, Power BI/Tableau, statistical analysis, and machine learning fundamentals

+ **Energy Industry Knowledge:** Understanding of utility operations, renewable energy markets, or power generation (preferred)

+ **Analytical Skills:** Strong problem-solving abilities with experience in data mining, predictive modeling, and process optimization

+ **Tools:** Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), SAP systems, and advanced analytics tools

+ **Communication:** Ability to translate complex data insights into actionable business recommendations for diverse stakeholders

+ **Education:** Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related quantitative field preferred

Job Overview

This position is responsible for developing algorithms, modeling techniques, and optimization methods that support many aspects of NextEra and FPL business. Employees in this role use knowledge of machine learning, optimization, statistics, and applied mathematics along with abilities in software engineering with a focus on distributed computing and data storage infrastructure (i.e., “Big Data”).

Job Duties & Responsibilities

+ Develops machine learning, optimization and other modeling solutions

+ Prepares comprehensive documented observations, analyses and interpretations of results including technical reports, summaries, protocols and quantitative analyses

+ Works with big data and distributed computing platforms

+ Develops software and contributes to product development

+ Performs other job-related duties as assigned
