General Information & Responsibilities
The Workforce Empowerment Initiative (WEI) Program Recruiter is a full-time position grant funded through the Workforce Empowerment Grant from July 2025 through August 2026. The Recruiter is a dynamic and results-oriented professional responsible for driving enrollment in short-term career and technical certificate programs. This role focuses on proactive outreach, building community partnerships, and guiding prospective students through the initial stages of their journey into high-wage, in-demand occupations.
Description of Duties
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
+ Develops and executes comprehensive outreach strategies to identify, attract, and engage prospective students for WEI-funded programs. This includes planning and participating in community events, job fairs, workshops, high school visits, and other career-related activities.
+ Effectively articulates program vision, goals, and learning objectives to diverse audiences, including potential students, community stakeholders, and school districts.
+ Cultivates and maintains robust partnerships with community organizations, social service agencies, high schools, adult education centers, and local WEI providers to establish effective referral pipelines and enhance program visibility.
+ Represents the College and WEI at community-related meetings and events.
+ Manages the WEI Grant student application process, guiding potential students through initial inquiries, addressing questions, and assisting with preliminary documentation.
+ Conducts initial eligibility screening for WEI grant funding and program requirements, ensuring compliance with grant guidelines.
+ Collects insights on potential barriers to enrollment and completion to inform program improvements.
+ Coordinates closely with the Marketing and Recruitment Department to develop and implement promotional campaigns for WEI programs, classes, and special events. This includes assisting in the creation and distribution of engaging marketing materials.
+ Collects, prepares, and maintains accurate data for all required program documents and reports, tracking recruitment activities, applicant status, and enrollment metrics.
+ Monitors and ensures the equitable and full participation of populations identified in the WEI grant.
+ Collaborates with college departments to gather and submit required reports regarding WEI Grant applicants and students, progress toward completion, and key outcomes.
+ Provides administrative and program support for the WEI Grant.
+ Participates in ongoing professional development to maintain current knowledge of higher education trends and WEI Grant opportunities.
DESCRIPTION OF OTHER DUTIES:
+ Develops and maintains partnerships with agencies, providers, and high schools regarding career programs eligible under the WEI Grant at BHC.
+ Collaborates with Student Services staff to provide career exploration and transitions experiences for students.
+ Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.)
+ Associate’s Degree required with need to obtain a Bachelor’s degree within 4 years of hire date, Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required.
+ Previous experience working with a database preferred.
+ Excellent communication skills required.
+ Ability to maintain confidentiality required.
+ Previous experience working with diverse populations required.
+ Ability to make effective individual and group presentations using technology required.
+ Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes evenings and weekends required.
+ Ability to travel occasionally required.
+ Valid driver’s license required.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis required
