Staff Accountant II

Job Summary:
HYBRID ROLE WITH 2 DAYS ONSITE REQUIRED
Provides direct support to the Accounting Manager in all aspects of the month-endclose process, from preparing bank reconciliations, to general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions. Provides audit support and works on special Accounting-related projects as needed. Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to ensure accuracy and integrity in our financial reporting.
Duties/Responsibilities:
+ Prepare journal entries and post to general ledger, ensuringtimely and accurate posting of journal entries
+ Maintain and update monthly reconciliations for both balance sheet and P&L
+ Post bi-weekly Payroll and monthly Intercompany transactions
+ Assist with interim and annual financial audit, working closely with external auditors
+ Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures
+ Ensure compliance with all internal controls, company policies and regulatory requirements
+ Support teamwork and cross training initiatives with the department

Skills/Abilities:
+ Excel skills required: pivot tables, v-lookups, formulas
+ Experience with ERP systems, JD Edwards and QuickBooks Online experience a plus
+ Concise and thorough analytical skills
+ Problem solve and identify process improvements
+ Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
+ Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
+ Great listener
+ Dependable team player and self-motivator
+ Ability to adapt to a fast and changing work environment
Education and Experience:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance, Business Management or related field required
+ 5+ years of progressive work experience
+ Prior experience in a manufacturing company a plus
+ Standard month end close processes
+ Audit procedures
+ GAAP
