General Summary
Has oversight and market-wide accountability for achievement of goals for systemness, operations, drive to a value-based system, budget management, patient and employee experience, quality, compliance, risk management and accreditation for all services within WellSpan's Central Region. Accomplishes these objectives in partnership and collaboration with market medical group clinical and operational executive leaders, service line leadership and other key system functions.
Duties and Responsibilities
+ Meets the financial, clinical, quality, experience, access, safety and strategic initiatives/goals of the designated market consistent with WellSpan's mission, vision and strategic priorities.
+ Provides oversight and direction to other acute care entities within the region.
+ In partnership and collaboration with market medical group clinical and operational executive leaders and service line leadership, responsible for the development and execution of access improvement and market growth plans for the designated market.
+ Establishes trust and promotes Working as One, systemness, partnership, engagement, and positive working relationships with all stakeholders within the market. Maintains visibility across all entities to promote team cohesion with leaders, employees and medical staff within the market.
+ Ensures the operating plans and related performance improvement initiatives are aligned with WellSpan's strategic plans and priorities.
+ In partnership with the Vice President of Business Development and other key stakeholders, proactively works to identify, assess, pursue and deliver on new business opportunities and partnerships within the market.
+ Leads development, implementation and monitoring of annual operating and capital budgets (at facility and consolidated level). Develops and enacts corrective action plans where necessary.
+ Champions innovation, creativity and continuous improvement in operations, patient safety, clinical quality and patient/customer satisfaction through the market.
+ Establishes appropriate plans, leads efforts and coordinates resources to improve the health of the communities served within the market.
+ Ensures the expectations of regulatory environments such as CMS, State Department of Health and payors within the market are met.
+ Participates in the development of rolling facilities and capital plans that address facilities, new technology and replacement capital investment necessary to meet business growth plans, clinical, quality, safety, operations and strategic objectives for the market.
+ Leads the development of multi-year physician and provider development plans for the market.
+ Accountable to achieve and maintain individual facility accreditation and licensure through the Joint Commission and/or State Department of Health, DNV Accreditation and other regulatory entities.
+ Interfaces effectively with the Board of Directors, and their associated committees and charitable foundations.
+ Actively engages in the community and maintains a strong external presence within the market both individually and through coordinated efforts with other market executives and key stakeholders.
Qualifications
+ Bachelors Degree required
+ Masters Degree In business management, health care management or finance strongly preferred
+ 10+ years experience in healthcare operations with a record of progressive management responsibilities in a large and complex health system required.
+ Knowledge of system process analysis, quality/process improvement techniques, design, and integration, at a level of complexity associated with integrating processes across multiple departments of an organization.
+ Possess a level of analytical ability to problem-solve, evaluate, plan, and direct process improvement projects and benchmarking activities for all clinical and non-clinical departments.
+ Ability to determine appropriate course of action in more complex situations.
