Description

Our trusted client is looking for an experienced Controller Consultant for a long-term engagement. This role offers the opportunity to manage and oversee various financial accounting functions, ensuring compliance with established controls and audit standards. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in month-end close processes, financial reporting, and accounting operations across multiple levels.

The day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Lead and manage the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

• Prepare journal entries, including manual entries for amortization, depreciation, and goodwill adjustments.

• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed asset accounting processes.

• Maintain the master trial balance on a 4-4-5 schedule and ensure proper reconciliation.

• Conduct investigations and provide detailed explanations for accounting inquiries.

• Ensure compliance with audit requirements and internal controls.

• Prepare financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

• Perform financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.

• Monitor and maintain completion accounting standards.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to address accounting-related questions and challenges effectively.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following skill set:

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks and NetSuite.

• Strong knowledge of journal entries and account reconciliation processes.

• Familiarity with 4-4-5 accounting schedules and % of completion accounting.

• Experience managing financial operations in the software or services industry is preferred.

• Proven ability to oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.

• Demonstrated experience preparing financial statements and ensuring compliance with audit standards.

• Prior experience sitting in a Controller role is highly desirable.
