Description
The Senior IT Auditor plans, executes, and reports on IT audits to evaluate the effectiveness of information technology systems, processes, and controls. Ensures compliance with regulations, identifies risks, and provides recommendations to improve IT governance, security, and efficiency. Collaborates with teams to assess IT environments and supports strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
+ Develop and execute IT audit plans, including risk assessments, for systems, applications, infrastructure, and processes.
+ Assess design and effectiveness of IT controls, including cybersecurity, data integrity, access management, and disaster recovery.
+ Ensure compliance with standards and regulations like SOX, GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS.
+ Identify and analyze IT risks, including vulnerabilities in networks, systems, and applications, and recommend mitigation strategies.
+ Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, recommendations, and action plans for management and stakeholders.
+ Collaborate with IT, finance, and operational teams to understand processes and provide insights.
+ Monitor implementation of audit recommendations and validate remediation efforts.
+ Stay updated on IT trends, cybersecurity threats, and audit methodologies to enhance processes.
+ Provide guidance and training to junior auditors and contribute to team development.
Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Accounting, or related field. Master’s degree or certifications (e.g., CISA, CISSP, CIA) preferred.
+ 5-7 years of experience in IT auditing, cybersecurity, or risk management, with 2 years in a senior or lead role.
+ Technical Skills:
+ Knowledge of IT frameworks (e.g., COBIT, ITIL, NIST).
+ Proficiency in auditing cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure), databases, and network infrastructure.
+ Familiarity with audit tools (e.g., ACL, IDEA) and cybersecurity tools (e.g., Nessus, Splunk).
+ Soft Skills:
+ Analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Communication skills to present complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
+ Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
