    Job Description

    Finger Lakes Health seeks Lead Teacher to join our Jim Dooley Early Learning Center!

     

    Full Time Opening – Day Shift! No weekends and No holidays! Competitive salary and benefit package!

     

    Full Time employees will receive a $1,000 sign on bonus!

    Position Summary:

    Under guidance from the Director of Child Care, plans and implements a developmentally appropriate ECE classroom program. Lead Teachers and Teachers work as a team to implement daily learning activities and care, using knowledge of the children's social relationships, interests, ideas, and skills to tailor learning opportunities for groups and individuals. Develops strategies to maintain a safe and healthy environment. Completes documentation and leads meetings. Conducts parent/teacher conferences and provides support services to families. Position requires ability to mentor & guide - teaching assistants and work collaboratively to develop an action plan for growth and success. Works collaboratively with other Lead Teachers to plan, organize, and evaluate needs of the Center's educational programs and improvement initiatives. Facilitates staff meetings and training sessions.

    EDUCATION

    Minimum:• Associates degree in early childhood or related field, or CDA.

     

    WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum:• Three years of full-time teaching experience in a- classroom setting. • Program-specific experience required for Infant & Toddler Lead Teacher.

     

    SKILLS: Minimum:• Demonstrated ability to design and implement a learner-centered, educationally based curriculum in accordance with the NYS Education standards for Pre-Kindergarten, or to design/implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum for infants and toddlers in accordance with the NAEYC standards. • Able to use assessment tools to document children's developmental progress, and to determine the extent that program goals have been met. • Demonstrated proficiency in establishing positive relationships with children. • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner. • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication skills (written and oral).

     

    Hourly Rate: $17.57
