This position requires teaching responsibilities for credit courses within the Industrial Mechatronics and the Industrial Mechatronics curriculum program the School of Industrial Technologies and P rofessional Services . Instruction will include day lecture and laboratory activities and may involve courses with some hybrid components via Blackboard. The instructor will report to the Dean.

The Instructor must possess the ability to:

+ + Teach all phases of the Industrial Mechatronics and the Industrial Mechatronics curriculum

+ Teach high school students in dual enrollment programs

+ Additional duties include developing instructional materials

+ Evaluating students’ progress in achieving instructional goals and objectives

+ Ensuring safety and security requirements are met in the training area

+ Provide professional instruction based on approved course syllabus

+ Prepare curriculum for coursework taught

+ Operate & maintain instructional equipment & trainers

+ Deliver training by lecture, hands on, computer multi-media, online & text

+ Maintain program certification requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering, with 3 to 5-years teaching experience or 1 to 3-years teaching in Mechatronics Technology related courses in a technical college environment. Teaching experience must include Industrial Mechanics, Fluid Power Systems, and other Mechatronics based curriculum. In addition to teaching Mechatronics curricula, the adjunct instructor should also have experience training and overseeing students in each required Mechatronics Technology Laboratory.

NOTE: APPLICANTS MUST MEET THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION

Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering, with 3 to 5-years teaching experience or 1 to 3-years teaching in Mechatronics Technology related courses in a technical college environment.

Knowledge of Blackboard (Learning Management System) is desirable.

Industry or teaching experience in Introduction to Mechatronics, Industrial Mechanics, Fluid Power Systems, Industrial Motor Controls, Basic Industrial PLC’s, Industrial Instrumentation, Hydraulics and Pneu matics, and other Mechatronics Technology based courses. In addition to technical lectures, the adjunct instructor should have experience in Mechanical Hands-on Training Equipment, Hydraulic Instructional Paraphernalia, Pneumatic Training Apparatus, Practical Mechanical Teaching Systems and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) System Devices (Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLC Systems). Familiarity with training systems such as Festo or Amatrol Virtual Training Software would be a plus for each candidate.

Minimum qualifications for this position will be determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.
