Job Title: Material Handler

Job Description

The material handler will be responsible for receiving packages delivered through UPS, FedEx, Amazon, and occasionally handling pallets. Duties include breaking down and removing pallets, storing materials, unpackaging, and appropriately labeling parts for inventory storage. The role involves conducting cycle counts once or twice a week and communication via email and Outlook. The material handler will use an ERP system, NetSuite, and support the manufacturing team in a Kanban setting by following pick lists to select materials, packaging, labeling, and delivering them to the manufacturing team. They will manage interdepartmental transfers and ensure smooth operations between manufacturing and internal partners.

Responsibilities

+ Receive and break down pallets and packages delivered by UPS, FedEx, and Amazon.

+ Store materials and unpack parts for inventory.

+ Label parts accurately for inventory storage.

+ Conduct cycle counts once or twice a week.

+ Communicate effectively using email and Outlook.

+ Utilize NetSuite ERP system for inventory control and data entry.

+ Support manufacturing team in a Kanban setting by picking, packaging, labeling, and delivering materials.

+ Manage interdepartmental transfers and ensure smooth operations between manufacturing and internal partners.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in shipping and receiving duties.

+ Strong inventory control skills.

+ Experience with ERP systems, particularly NetSuite.

+ Ability to perform cycle counts accurately.

+ Good counting skills and attention to detail.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with dry ice and cold room operations.

+ Ability to operate a pallet jack.

+ Cold chain experience is a plus.

+ Flexibility to take on new tasks beyond the current job description.

Work Environment

The work environment includes some cold storage areas with minus 20-degree storage locations. Employees will work from 7 am to 3:30 pm, with overtime required between 1-2 hours per day, not exceeding 10 hours daily. Currently, there is no weekend work, but this may change due to inventory audits, with mandatory weekend work scheduled for two days in May.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
